Incredible! That's the word which came to my mind when I finished each book and the series. The story follows 2 main characters - Detective Sam Porter suffering from loss and untangling a web of lies, deceit, betrayals and murders; and Anson Bishop, the diabolical and dare I say, brilliant antagonist.

You have to read these books in order to understand the entire story. Author @jdbarker_author has laid out a plot so shocking and surprising, you won't stop reading until you get to the conclusion of this tale. It's fast paced, it's incredibly shocking in places and it will keep you on the edge of your seat!

I have rarely read books where you can actually say the phrases 'nothing is as it seems' or 'nobody is who they say they are'; but these books deliver and how! While reading you reach a point of being able to understand where the story is going but the author has other plans for you. He upends the entire plot in a few sentences and you are left wide eyed with shock and gasping.

I can't say much without giving away the plot and I wont, because every thriller reader should definitely read this to feel the, well, thrill! I can't recommend this enough! If you're the kind of person who loves engaging your mind, this series is for you.

Harry Potter by J. K. Rowling

This has to be the first entry on my bookstagram page. I have never been able to fully explain to anyone what it is about Harry Potter and why I still read it, cherish it and love it even 20 years after having read it for the first time. Maybe it's the fact that I read the Philosophers Stone when I was being bullied in school and I had practically no friends and no support. Therefore, reading about the boy who lived under the stairs who had hope and was rescued and admired and found inseparable friends, sparked a fire in my heart. The entire series taught me so much about bravery, loyalty, friendship, family, choices and facing life. It still feels like a warm hug, like a friend speaking to me from far and telling me everything will be alright.
